“for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” Exodus 3:5

Christian communities in the biblical regions are experiencing diminishing populations

In the biblical lands, Christians grapple with scarce resources and inadequate protection amidst an era marked by war and suffering. The land, revered as God's own, repeatedly bears the brunt of conflict. Aid to the Church in Need diligently collaborates with Christians in these regions to safeguard their religious brethren and assist them in perpetuating their sacred missions. Whether operating orphanages, running soup kitchens, or conducting masses in perilous settings, the Christians in the biblical lands steadfastly persist in spreading goodness. Our commitment is to stand by them as they strive to uphold the love of Jesus Christ in the face of persecution.

Feeding the Hungry Elderly and Poverty-struck People in Damascus

The goal of this project is to provide food for the most vulnerable people in the impoverished areas of Damascus. ACN's funding for this crucial project mitigates the high cost of food, allowing the Church to strengthen its connection with the community in need.

By giving $50 a month you can provide the meals for someone in need.

Christmas Gifts for Syrian Children

This project aims to distribute winter jackets to 27,590 children living in different governorates of the country who could not otherwise afford warm winter clothing. This project will enable families to give their children new clothes for Christmas and will encourage some small workshops to continue their activities by creating job opportunities. Many Christian families in Syria suffer because of their inability to buy sweets, meat, and even vegetables for their children. Their inability to also buy clothes exacerbates their suffering but the religious sisters of Jesus and Mary want to channel a ray of warmth from benefactors, as a visible sign of God’s love.

The Holy Land Emergency Aid Project

Aid to the Church in Need is actively supporting Christians in the Holy Land in four key areas. In the Gaza Strip, the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem is assisting around 1,000 Christians with immediate needs. The West Bank sees aid for 37,000 Palestinian Christians facing economic hardships. In East Jerusalem, financial assistance is preventing evictions for 10,000 Christians affected by tourism-related job losses. Additionally, support extends to over 100,000 Christian migrants and asylum seekers.

Solar Panels For the Lebanese Orphanage

One of the vital initiatives in Lebanon is an orphanage in Jezzine, housing around thirty children from families experiencing social and economic difficulties. The children live, study, and play in the center, visiting their families on weekends. Despite being recognized as a social institution, the government's financial support is negligible, with no payment received for three years. Facing a desperate financial situation, the orphanage's director, Rose-André Imad, approached ACN for assistance in financing the installation of a solar photovoltaic system. Situated at an altitude of 2,000 m, Jezzine experiences high energy consumption, especially in winter.

As Christians, we have a duty to support our brothers and sisters in faith who are suffering.

Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) has been working tirelessly to support the local Church in the Lands of the Bible and to help those who have been persecuted and traumatized. From trauma centers for healing to sturdy cars for priests ministering in dangerous regions.
