... and with the Lord.
Please make an urgent offering today.

When you walk with Bita... you walk with the Lord.

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus is giving His final instructions before heading to Jerusalem for the Passover and His crucifixion.

Our Lord says,

"Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me." - Matthew 25:40

This Lent, please consider those who are least of our brothers and sisters, and do everything you can to give them love, care, and pastoral support.

Whatever you do for them, the least among us, you do for Christ Himself.

By every worldly measure, our beloved sister Bita would come last.

As a Dalit

Bita belongs to a group of people who are considered 'untouchable' in their society. As a Dalit, she is subjected to a life of menial labour and abject poverty from which she can never hope to escape.

And, as a woman

Tragically, life is even worse for a Dalit women. They are notoriously exploited, abused, raped, forced into labour, and trafficked into prostitution - with no legal rights or access to justice.

Lastly, as a Christian

Bita is mistrusted by her neighbours, shunned by her community, and persecuted by the wider Indian community for practicing her faith. She has become an 'untouchable among untouchables' - a true outcast.

As Christians, we remember with gratitude Jesus' ultimate sacrifice on the Cross. In the same spirit of love, we are greatly called to come together and give what we can of ourselves, so that God's love may flourish in the hearts of His most vulnerable children.

Your Lenten offering is needed urgently to provide Bita with the pastoral care she needs to grow in the Catholic faith.

With an offering of $45 you could help to translate the Bible into one of the many local languages used by Dalit Catholics across India. Through you, more people like Bita will read the Word of God, just as she did.

Send $95 and you could help ACN support small Catholic communities, so poor Christians like Bita can receive the pastoral care they desperately need.

And with a truly generous offering of $135, you could help strengthen the autonomy of Dalit women by providing specialised courses through ACN supported Catholic Women's Group.

Please, will you give as generously as you can to bring joy, comfort and pastoral care to suffering Christians like Bita? Thank you!
