Thanks to the generous support of our benefactors, we have been able to supply a new pastoral transport vehicle for the Sisters of Jesus and Mary in Venezuela. Now they can continue to pick up food supplies for their girls' orphanage, transport sick patients, and make pastoral visits to the poorest of the poor.
Sister Yamile sends her heartfelt thanks...
"With all our hearts we want to thank you for your prompt and generous support!"
"Our special charism is 'to imitate the active life of Jesus on earth through works of mercy', and thanks to your help we can truly fulfil the Lord‘s words in our lives."
For many years now, Venezuela has been going through an unparalleled crisis. Around 80% of its people are living in poverty. Those don’t have relatives overseas to send money home sometimes struggle to even eat.

Sisters of the Missionaries of Jesus and Mary transport food from the borders of Venezuela's neighbouring countries.
The sisters here care for the sick and elderly, the homeless and the poorest families. They often travel out to remote and distant villages, bringing comfort, consolation and the love of Christ.
The sisters also have a home for 30 girls who have been orphaned, abandoned or experienced domestic violence.
They also run a Christian preschool which gives meals to starving children whose families can't afford to feed them. After the weekend at home, many of these children are simply consumed with hunger, the sisters told us. Here, they can at least eat during the week.
In order to help all these people materially – with food, clothing and medicines – the sisters have to drive all the way to the Colombian border, 460km away, where they can still obtain these goods. They also often transport the sick in their vehicle.
But their old and worn out car was increasingly running into trouble and causing problems. And so they turned to us, asking our help.
But thanks to ACN's generous benefactors, we were able to provide the $50,600 they needed to buy a Toyota Hilux to continue their work.
Now, Sister Yamile and her community have a robust, all-terrain vehicle to continue their life-saving and soul-supporting works of mercy.
"The girls, boys, youth, elderly and poor of Carora Venezuela thank Aid to the Church in Need for the excellent help of the van that we needed so much. Because of your support, we can at least help to ease the sufferings of the people in Venezuela."
"May God continue to bless all those who are helping to make your wonderful work of mercy possible. God bless you and multiply your resources!"
