Help persecuted, suffering & oppressed Christians
1 in 5 Christians live in countries where they face constant persecution, simply because of their faith in Jesus Christ.
Despite overwhelming challenges, they choose to cling to the cross, as a living sign of the power of God's love.
They are the witnesses of hope.
"The help we received from ACN was the most beautiful realisation of what it means to be in the presence of God who welcomes and feeds the hungry... Your solidarity transforms faces full of pain into faces full of hope." - Sister Aparecida, Mozambique
Support Religious Sisters in Cuba
The Missionaries of Jesus, Word and Victim are religious sisters whose special vocation is to work in some of the poorest and most remote and difficult regions with few or no priests. Founded in Peru in 1961, their mission expanded over to seven different countries in Latin America, including Cuba. As part of their ministry, the sisters pray with the faithful, comfort the sick and dying, and give catechetical instruction.
In 2015, the religious sisters were assigned to Guasimal, in the Diocese of Santa Clara, an extremely poor area where there are over 27,000
Catholic faithful for every single priest. Entrusted to their care is a parish called the “Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary” in Guasimal. They have been looking after the parish by assisting the priests who go there once a month to hear confessions, celebrate Masses and to anoint the sick.
With their faithful presence, parish life has flourished, and pastoral activities now involve more people than ever taking part in their daily activities.
However, the sisters have no external sources of income, so they are entirely dependent on our support. ACN is committed to support the sisters to cover their basic needs and continue their work.
